It has been an interesting month. New edition of Warhammer 40k has come out and of course breaks everything. Well kind of, the BSData group is fed up with the BattleScribe app developer. They have decided to boycott him, as they aren't able to easily add the new edition's data. There are some alternatives out there which I am still evaluating, but can't do much until the data is there. GW came out with their own builder and it is useful, but not for my app. It doesn't even have any kind of useful exports. You are meant to play using the app, which you have to click so much to even see what you need and when you do see it, it is everything and not what you had selected. It is ridiculous, hoping the BSData group is able to get a tool to build the data soon. The WhereAreGames app is still semi useful for score keeping at least. I was able to play a game the other day using it for keeping score with the scorecard widget. Still working on the campaign builder, just running in to some system issues.
You can kind of tell when the new edition was released as my traffic went way down. I only had between 14 and 15 unique users hit WhereAreGames. So things are a bit down. Hopefully things will pick up once the BSData group gets their data in and people start using an alternative builder. Dynaballot had about 13 unique users, none of which logged in.
