Ok, to do lists suck and I need to build one. That is my excuse and going to leave that there.

This last month I took some look at more of my SEO reports and found an interesting use of H* tags and how they relate to SEO. Apparently search bots and spiders use H* tags for gathering keywords related to your site or at least a header for sections where your keywords might exist. So decided to apply some of that to the WhereAreGames site. As it turned out I had the H1 values set the same for each page. Which apparently not a good thing to have the name of your site on each page as a H1. It sounds like it is far better to have the H1 to be same as the meta tile of the page. So I took the title minus the site name and put them in H1's on each of the pages. There are some of the pages the H1 is display equals none, as the page really doesn't need a H1 title. I then went through the pages and each section that I had non-H* tags for headers. So I when through and updated the section headers to use H2 and anything that is a subsection I used H3. This is supposed to help bots read the site and understand it. I put the update about 2 weeks ago, and I am not seeing much changes yet though I think it is still early.

Unique users on WhereAreGames still looks small. I know there is one other person, than myself, that uses the app. Looking at the stats I see a few looks but not a lot of use. Dynaballot is even worse, there was access to a few old ballots, but nothing in creation of new ones. So for at least the WhereAreGames I think I need to add some other tools to it, to make it more useful, but hopefully the SEO features might help bring in more people.
